Use of funds includes hiring of engineers and marketing to the software development community.

New York City, November 19, 2018 -- CodeStream, Inc. announced today that it has raised $3.2M in seed capital to develop and market its toolset for software developers. The investment was led by S28 Capital with participation by PJC. Additional investors include Y Combinator, Steve Sordello, Mark Stein and David Carlick.

CodeStream makes software for development teams. CodeStream is the easiest way to ask questions, make suggestions, and open issues on your code while coding. As a result of interacting through CodeStream, a knowledge base builds up over time that helps reduce onboarding time and repetitive work.

“We believe CodeStream is in a great position to revolutionize team collaboration for a whole generation of developers,” said Andrew Miklas, partner at S28 Capital. “In doing so, CodeStream will also benefit the enterprise as a whole, by capturing, organizing and sharing institutional knowledge about codebases and making software development more pleasant and productive.”

“We are delighted to have raised a significant seed round and to be working with Andrew, one of the founders of PagerDuty, as we embark in building a new type of tool for developers that will for the first time truly simplify communication and knowledge sharing within a codebase,” said Peter Pezaris, co-founder and CEO of CodeStream.

CodeStream has been downloaded over 7,500 times since it was made available in late September, and is in use at companies like Deloitte, InviteManager, Slite, Tipe and many others.

About CodeStream

CodeStream increases the efficiency of development teams by simplifying knowledge retention and sharing. Developers can use their Slack or CodeStream team chat channels inside VS Code and other leading editors. Those discussions automatically build a knowledge base within the codebase over time. The founding team of CodeStream has worked together for over 20 years, and has built several successful companies including Commissioner.com (sold to CBS Sports), Multiply.com (Sold to Naspers), Glip.com (sold to RingCentral) and Ask.com (sold to IAC). CodeStream is a Y Combinator-backed company and investors include S28 Capital and PJC.
